Our annual Powerhouse outage in October required as much careful preparation and timing as an Indianapolis 500 pit stop.
As you know, the Powerhouse con-verts refuse-derived fuel into renew-able energy to provide electricity for approximately 45,000 households each year. So shutting down our four huge power-producing boilers and two turbines for inspection and mainte-nance becomes an extremely compli-cated, heavy-duty enterprise.

A new 14,000 square-foot administration building will replace the collection of office trailers that has for years served as a workplace for both county and company employees.
“The trailers are deteriorating and are in need of replacement. The county and the company agree that it is in everyone’s best interest to construct a permanent administration building,” said project manager Tony Guillen.
