Job Title: Ash System Operator
Department: Power House Operations
SUMMARY: Monitors and maintains proper operation of the ash removal conveyor system.
a partnership between Montenay Power Corp. and Miami-Dade County
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Oversees all ash system operations, i.e., conveyors, submerged water levels, etc.

2. Turns on and turns off motor control center breaker operations.

3. Assists in stoker tray cleaning.

4. Maintains and monitors efficient operation of module sump pumps and hydraulic units for ash conveyor system.

5. Operates small bobcat loader as needed for ash spillage removal in basement.

6. Assists other plant operators as necessary to support plant operations.

7. Keeps conveyors sealed, preventing introduction of tramp air and ash spillage.

8. Performs general housekeeping of work area.

9. Performs or assists to perform maintenance as required on PM check-off sheets.

1. Cleans areas outside of immediate work areas as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training in similar situation. Internal candidates must have completed qualification standards for prior position in company's line of progression.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write and speak in English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
